Lessons in Love by Kathryn Blake

I'm so pleased to share a brand new release from Blushing Books author Kathryn R. Blake!

She needed a job, he needed a personal assistant. It seemed like a match made in heaven until he laid out the rules he expected her to follow.

Pam Weston didn't have many choices as far as employment went. Her prison sentence saw to that. With limited secretarial skills, and an even more limited budget, she never considered herself executive material. So, when she was ordered to report to the CEO of her company as his new personal assistant, she fully expected to be checking out the "Help Wanted" section of the paper before the day was over.

Robert Peterson knew his management style was not HR approved, but he believed in using the stick as well as the carrot. Employing the tenets of domestic discipline, he helped mold his personal assistants into confident women who recognized their own self-worth. Even so, his unorthodox methods were only one of the reasons many considered the position of his assistant to be a revolving door. To Rob's mind, Pamela Weston was perfect for his purposes, though given her past, he expected convincing her to agree to his program would be a challenge.

Rob is setting the rules as he gives Pam a bath.

Though she longed to cover herself, Pam remained still, naked and vulnerable before him as he bent and swiftly lifted her into his arms. She let out a gasp of surprise, which he completely ignored. Two steps later, he slowly lowered her into the steaming water, which turned her skin pink but wasn't hot enough to be painful. Just the way she liked it.
"Temperature okay?"
Pam returned his smile. "Perfect. How did you know?"
Lathering up a washcloth, he shrugged. "I set it at the heat level I prefer. Baths need to be steamy, or I don't feel clean, unless I'm already too warm. Then I want a shower. Rest your hands on the side of the tub while I see about getting you squeaky clean."
He started with her shoulders and chest, but, when he lowered his hands to her upper arms, she tried to pull away.
"No. We have rules tonight. What were your instructions?"
"I'm not to speak or move without your permission."
"Correct. Did I give you permission to withdraw your arm?"
"No, sir."
"Disobedience requires a consequence."
Pam met his gaze. He wasn't smiling but he didn't appear angry either. Rather than question or argue, she waited for his verdict.
"Draw your knees up and part your legs for me," he ordered. His voice, husky and smooth like expensive whiskey, went straight to her groin. Though the bathtub was long enough for two people, it wasn't unusually wide. However, when she drew her knees up, she was able to spread them without difficulty.
He promptly reached between her thighs and stroked. "You are not to move. Understand? Disobey me again, and you'll get a smack instead."
Pam clutched the sides of the tub as his wicked fingers began their erotic torture. Letting out a soft moan, she struggled to keep her eyes open and her body still. When the sensations grew too strong, she whimpered with her need to come.
Bending his head, he positioned his mouth a fraction away from hers but didn't kiss her. "Good girl," he murmured.
"You may come," he decreed before his lips swept down to claim her. Pam cried out as she wrapped her arms about his neck and climaxed.
Her breathing ragged, she gripped his broad shoulders, afraid to see his face. His disappointment. Except the feather-light kisses he placed on her cheeks and eyes did not indicate displeasure. Finally, he grasped her wrists and drew back to gaze at her.

Lessons in Love is Kathryn R. Blake's sixth novel with Blushing Books, and fifth spanking romance where Domestic Discipline is primary to the plot.  Although Kathryn is relatively new to the spanking romance market, she is not new to stories where the hero spanks the heroine.  In fact, most of her novels have some sort of spanking in them.  However, even in Kathryn's novels where the hero firmly believes in using spanking as a deterrent, he has no desire to cause the heroine injury and takes no delight in hurting the woman of his heart.  In fact, sometimes he finds it extremely difficult to follow through on his threats or promises.
To date, all of her heroes are dominant, alpha males who are extremely protective of the women they love.  However, part of that protectiveness includes the need for a certain amount of control.  They do not suffer defiance or disobedience lightly. Even so, these men aren't infallible, and they do make mistakes, but love and respect will always triumph in the end.
Kathryn has been a member of RWA since the early 1980s and has joined several local and special interest chapters. Besides writing, Kathryn enjoys traveling, reading, attending the theatre, and is a passionate lover of animals, so much so that in 2015 a stray cat adopted her. The stray now sleeps in Kathryn's bed.  She has also recently taken up the expensive hobby of making and selling jewelry.
Her personal website,, is filled with photos and links to information about her many interests as well as peppered with quizzes, contests, games and lots of other fun things to do and she loves to hear from her readers, so she has an e-mail link at the bottom of every page.

Enrolling Little Etta ~ by Allison West & Alta Hensley

A Victorian romantic erotica age-play novel by two awesome Blushing Books authors!

Philip Hartley owns an elite finishing school and a hidden gem that focuses on the sexual submission and complete discipline of young ladies. Behavior, expectations, and beliefs are quite different there. A finishing school to help a woman find that little girl which once was lost. A private school that requires their pupils to surrender their bodies, their minds, and their souls to their betrothed.
When Henrietta Waters’ estranged uncle decides it best for her to attend the Ashby Chateau, and become betrothed to a proper husband, she has no choice but to comply. Especially since the recent death of her father has left her with very little options.
But can Etta fully surrender in ways she has never imagined? Can she allow a nanny to take care of her, fully take care of her every need? Can she submit to discipline and sexual training as the purity of her inner child blends with the fire of her sexual desires? And is it possible for her to truly become the little love that Headmaster Philip Hartley demands?

Publisher’s Note: Enrolling Little Etta is a Victorian erotic romance that focuses on ageplay, anal play, spankings, and graphic sex. If a spicy Victorian is not your cup of tea, then please do not take a sip.

Philip followed Jack into the dining room and was quite surprised to see a lovely woman, a few years younger than him, sitting quietly and alone at the table. She was holding up her fork, glancing at her reflection in the silver. She looked quite lovely and nervous; her hand twitched at the realization that someone else had entered the room. Her long blonde hair flowed down her back and moved with her like a kiss from the wind, caressing her skin, as she turned her head to see what the commotion was all about.

As soon as her crystal blue eyes met his, she dropped the utensil on the table. It made a clanking sound as she pushed her chair back to stand.

"I do not believe we've met," Philip said, walking toward her, offering his hand. His eyes moved over her perfect creamy complexion and down to the dusting of freckles on her neck that dipped down to just above her breasts, where her gown prevented any further glimpse of her skin.

"My name is Etta Waters, sir."
Philip glanced from Etta to Jack. "You did not tell me you had a daughter."
"She is my niece," Jack said, quick to clarify his position. "My brother passed away a
short time ago. Henrietta has come to live here with me, until I can find her a proper home. She has just arrived."

Welcome to my blog post for this week's #WipItUpWednesday where, once again, I'm sharing out of my first-ever spanky book Bracken Ridge which Blushing Books has included in the weekly "Flashback Sale" to help me celebrate my authorversary!

Excerpt:  Crack! “Six!” She didn’t know if she could take any more of these awful punishing strokes. Jeremy was swinging the belt brutally hard and it was only her sheer force of will that was keeping her in position – Jeremy’s hand on her back was just resting there lightly, perhaps for comfort, but it wasn’t holding her down.  He was leaving the staying in place for this punishment up to her. Only two more, she told herself, willing herself to get through it.
Crack! Anna moaned in pain, and it took a couple of seconds for her to catch her breath to count. “Seven,” she gasped.
Crack! The last one was especially hard, and Anna screamed. “Eight!” As soon as the count was out of her mouth she collapsed against the car, resting her cheek against the cold metal, her whole body shaking. She was still sore from the spanking Jeremy had given her earlier in his bedroom – to feel his belt on top of that was torture.
She lay there sobbing against the car while Jeremy put his belt back on, then he helped her up and hugged her in close to his chest. She pressed her face into his broad, muscled chest, relishing the feeling of his powerful arms wrapped around her. His goatee was tickling her forehead, and he was rocking her gently back and forth.
“Shhh, it’s ok baby, it’s ok, it’s all over now,” Jeremy whispered soothingly to her as he continued to hold her, rubbing her back rhythmically with the fingers of his left hand, as the fingers of his other hand entwined in her hair.
A smile crept over Anna’s face as the ‘baby’ registered in her brain. Twice in a row! She thought. That’s gotta mean something! Jeremy doesn’t use the term ‘baby’ normally!
As if to prove her right, Jeremy leaned down to kiss her then, holding her face in both his hands, his smouldering dark eyes boring intently into hers.  The kiss was tentative at first, but quickly deepened when Anna responded to him, pressing her body into him, reaching her hands up to entwine in his wavy hair at the nape of his neck, her fingers exploring up under his hat, her tongue meeting his.

When Anna Fletcher comes home from University back to Bracken Ridge, the equine centre where she grew up, she is stunned to find Jeremy McCrae working as the manager. They were children together and she has had a crush on him forever. The years she's been away, Jeremy has only gotten cuter.

Anna has plans for Bracken Ridge, but before she can implement them, she needs to prove herself. The biggest obstacle in her path is her nemesis, the stable hand who thinks Jeremy is mighty fine. Once Anna gets past her, Jeremy is standing in her way - he's now the boss, but she can't work for him. He's been her best mate forever, and to cede to his authority now is going against every grain of her nature.
Being the daughter of the owner, Jeremy isn’t allowed to fire Anna, so when she gets rebellious and sassy he decides to spank her instead.
Can Jeremy tame Anna's rebellious spirit before it is too late?

A Little Sunshine by Maggie Ryan and Abbie Adams

Welcome to two fantastic authors Maggie Ryan and Abbie Adams! With pink being my favourite colour, I'm a huge fan of this awesome cover!

A vacation at an all-inclusive resort in Cancun… who could turn that down? A librarian named Sunny that's who. After learning that her best friend, Tiffany, can no longer accompany her on their dream vacation, Sunny is prepared to stay home in her safe little world. Tiff is having none of that and forces Sunny to take the trip as well as promise to have enough fun for the both of them. Capitulating, Sunny boards the plane with nothing more than her beloved naughty books and her vivid imagination as her travel companions. The only redeeming factor is that she will have an entire week to indulge herself—even if only in her fantasies.
Mexico has so much to offer—the sparkling Caribbean Sea, white beaches, lush green rain-forests and the heat is not confined to the sun. Sultry Latin men with nefarious plans, an ancient civilization and incredibly sexy identical cowboys give her everything she needs to fuel her daydreams.  So why does one face keep creeping into her dreams?
Ever since she witnessed Tiff's older brother spanking his girlfriend, her mind has replayed and rewritten the scene a thousand times. How many times has she imagined taking the place of the girl over his lap, begging her Daddy not to spank her anymore? But, how can Trent become not only her lover but her Daddy if he doesn't know she is alive?
Every time Trent has tried to talk to Sunny, she hurries away, but the look in her eyes has his every instinct humming. Learning that she is alone in Mexico, his plan begins to develop. The moment he spies the beautiful, half-naked young woman over-indulging in Jose Cuervo, he knows it's time to bare his heart and, of course, turn her over his knee and spank her bare bottom. She's always been his Little Sunny but it was time to teach her all the ways she could burn.
What will happen when Sunny discovers that while she could easily choreograph a fantasy and wake up before she truly paid a price for her naughtiness, spankings given by a real flesh and blood Daddy on a bare backside really hurt! Or is Trent just a figment of her imagination and she is still dreaming?

Let's make sure. Let's see, you accused me of being crazy, right?" Though she thought it had been a rhetorical question, evidently she was wrong as two more swats descended as he reminded her he expected an answer when asked a question.
"I didn't mean it!" she yelped.
"Let me properly define the word for you, little girl. Crazy would be for me to stand back and let you continue drinking. Crazy would be for me not to care that some man's hand was on your breast! Crazy would be for me to just shrug and walk away as you poured yet more tequila down your throat. That would have been crazy!"
His words, more than his hand swatting her had the first tears spilling to drip onto the floor. "You think it was crazy for wanting you safe?" His hand rose and fell again. "For caring enough to make sure you are thoroughly disciplined, and will never even consider behaving in such a foolish and selfish manner ever again?" Every word was driven home by a hard swat with a callused palm, but more so by the love she heard behind his words.
She no longer attempted to dodge his hand. Instead, she went limp over his lap and finally truly accepted the need for punishment. Though she submitted, he didn't stop until he had covered every point, and apparently every bare patch of her bottom too. Though she accepted her need for the spanking, it didn't keep her from an occasional plea for him to stop. Hell, she even tried to change his mind by telling him it was the wrong kind of spanking.
"Really?" he said, his hand pausing again. "Perhaps you are right. Maybe I should put you into the corner while I go to the Mercado and find a nice, hard paddle or maybe a wooden hairbrush?"
"No! I-I mean…" she gave a deep sigh in defeat.
"Cute thought, little one, but this is the only type of spanking naughty little girls get. Daddies only give those other kind of spankings to very good little girls."

Maggie Ryan

Author for Blushing Books. I write both contemporary erotica and historical spanking romances. I enjoy writing about characters that enjoy the provocative D/S lifestyle of today’s times as well as taking a step back into the past to write stories that take place in the Victorian era with age-play as a theme.
I live in the great Lone Star state with my wonderful husband. I have always loved reading. Growing up in a family with four children, it was difficult finding a place to be alone. I was probably one of the squeakiest clean girls on the planet as I would spend hours in the tub so I could read without being bothered. It wasn’t long before I began to make up my own endings to the books I was reading. From there, it just seemed natural to begin writing my own stories.

I never try to restrict myself to any one genre because there are just too many delicious possibilities out there and inside my head. I admit to being somewhat of a romantic though as my stories always must have a great deal of love, passion, corporal discipline and, of course, great, mind-blowing sex. I want my readers to be able to see, hear, feel and know the characters that I’m creating as well as I do when I bring them to life and transfer their stories to paper. I want my women to be strong of character but also strong enough to know that submission given in love and trust to your partner does not make you weaker, it makes you far stronger. I want my men to be sexy, strong, demanding alpha males who know how to take what they want while acknowledging it is a gift they have been blessed with by the women that have chosen to submit to them. I want there to be no doubt that they truly would die for the other no matter how others might view their relationship.

It's my authorversary!

I know I'm breaking the rules here, and I'm sorry, but I just had to share my excitement with you all - next week it's my authorversary - it will be an entire year since Blushing Books made my dream come true and turned me into a published author!

Although this is the #WipItUpWednesday blog hop, this post is neither a work-in-progress nor a new release but a celebration! And to help me celebrate, Blushing Books is including Bracken Ridge in their flash-back sale next week so please keep an eye out and help me spread the word!

Come on Star! Anna silently willed the horse. Too excited to even scream now, she jumped up and down on the spot, hands over her mouth, a bundle of jittery nerves.
Starlight started to fly. Encouraged by Josh, she started to really stretch out, her long strides literally eating up the ground beneath them as she raced for home.  Stretching out as far as she could, she started to streak for the finish line, accelerating even more as she drew alongside the leader; the favourite. For a few tense moments they raced neck and neck, both jockeys eyeballing each other, encouraging their mounts to go even faster, push even harder. And Star did. Slowly, she drew away from the bay favourite, and as Anna started screaming from the sidelines again, began widening the gap. Anna could see she was fighting hard, giving it her all, and she screamed her encouragement with a renewed vigour – as long as she kept up the pace, she had the race won!
Josh kept pushing her on, encouraging her, and Starlight kept running like she’d never run before. She continued to pull away from the leader, every stride widening the gap between them, then from out of nowhere, the bay accelerated. He was the favourite, he’d led all the way around right from the start; he wasn’t going down without a fight. His nose was at her shoulder, her neck, her ears, her nose … Anna groaned inwardly. Come on Star! She willed desperately. Come on, you can do it!

When Anna Fletcher comes home from University back to Bracken Ridge, the equine centre where she grew up, she is stunned to find Jeremy McCrae working as the manager. They were children together and she has had a crush on him forever. The years she's been away, Jeremy has only gotten cuter.

~ At Dead of Night ~ by Bethany Leigh

At Dead of Night: Red herrings meet red bottoms in this tale of detecting, discipline and life decisions.

Welcome back to my blog Bethany! Your new book looks great - and I've got lots of questions about it!

At Dead of Night is the title of your new book with Blushing Books. What can you tell us about it?
First up, it’s a detective story. There is a murder, there are lots of suspects, and Lucy, my PI, spends most of her working day trying to find out whodunit. But it’s also a domestic discipline story. Lucy has previously broken up with Noel because of a punishment spanking he gave her when she unnecessarily put her life at risk. The murder case brings Lucy back in contact with Noel, and she has to decide whether her love for him and her enjoyment of playful spankings is stronger than her dislike of punishment.

Where is it set?
It’s a contemporary story, set mostly in London, though Lucy does have to travel to Cornwall to see the scene of the crime and interview some of the suspects.

Do you read a lot of murder mysteries?
Yes! Mystery has been my favourite genre since I can remember. I read Enid Blyton and Nancy Drew as a kid, graduating to authors like Ruth Rendell, Sara Paretsky, Sue Grafton, Elizabeth George, and, more recently, Elly Griffiths. I enjoy mysteries on TV as well – Midsomer Murders is a big favourite.

Is At Dead of Night your first book?
It’s not my first published book (Freedom, an alternate Edwardian history novella, was published by Blushing Books in December), but it is the first book I wrote. When I first started writing it, I found the murder mystery plot came to me very quickly, as did the names and personalities of Lucy’s colleagues at the investigation agency. But I struggled with Lucy and Noel’s relationship – I wanted them to have split up and for Lucy to meet him again during the course of the investigation. I came up with all sorts of reasons for their break-up, but nothing worked. In the early draft, I’d included a scene where Noel gave Lucy a playful spanking, and I always thought of them as practising DD, but didn’t think any publisher would ever accept a storyline like that. When I discovered there were publishers who would, I made DD the reason for their break-up.

What is your next book about and when will it be released?

My next book is an anthology of short stories called A Cure for All Ills. The title story is about a woman with anorexia and a new boyfriend who believes loving discipline will help turn around her troubled relationship with food. The other stories are what I’d call ‘domestic dramas with discipline’. The book will be released on 23 February.

After eight years of working as a PI, Lucy Ogilvy finally has a murder mystery to investigate. Who did kill Marilyn Carter, a convicted murderer who is now a prominent Christian evangelist?

Lucy's investigations bring her back in contact with her ex-boyfriend Noel. They'd like to get back together - but he insists on a domestic discipline relationship, and forbids her to take unnecessary risks for work.

Can Lucy accept Noel's discipline? And how do you investigate a murder without taking a few risks, anyway?

The first time Noel had slapped Lucy, she'd enjoyed it.

It had been a stinging slap on her thigh, delivered after she'd turned the cold tap on him when they were sharing a candlelit bath. She'd clambered out, but he'd remained in the bubbly bathwater, eyes closed, chillaxing. Shocked out of the tub by the cold blast of water, he'd grabbed her and whacked her. Then he'd turned off the tap, pulled the plug on the water, and declared that she was going across his knee.

"Like fun I am," she'd said, looking down at the bright palm print on her thigh.

But over his knee she'd gone and it had been fun. He'd smacked her bare, wet-from-the-bath bottom twelve times, then rolled her onto her back and given her what had at that point been the best shag of her life. Afterwards, they'd lain contented on the bed, her head tucked under his left arm.

"Now that," she'd said, "was amazing sex."

"Sex is always better after a spanking," he'd declared.

"Who for? Me or you?"

"Both of us," he'd grinned. "You were drenched and I'm not talking about the bathwater."

"Bastard!" Half-annoyed and half-embarrassed, she slapped his arm.

"Stop that," he said, stern. "That's my job." He sat up, hauled her across his lap and gave her backside another six sharp smacks.

"Ow," she said. "This is so unfair."

"But you're enjoying it," he said. "Aren't you?"

It was too embarrassing to admit it, but yes, Lucy was. Spanking had been something she'd fantasised about for years. Schoolteachers had been the imaginary spankers in her childhood, followed by boys she'd fancied in her teens and later the handsome young men she'd met through work. She'd fantasised about being spanked by Noel, too, and the fact that he actually did spank sent shivers down her spine. Not that she could bring herself to admit it. Instead, she wiggled her bottom, hoping that would serve as the answer that she couldn't pluck up the courage to give voice to.

He'd chuckled and stroked her smarting buttocks and thighs. "That was just playful," he'd said. "You wait till you get a real spanking from me. I can guarantee you won't enjoy it at all."

At that moment she couldn't imagine not enjoying a spanking from Noel. But down the track she'd realised he was as good as his word.
