#WipItUpWednesday ~ New release #western ~ The Gunslinger's Woman

For WipItUp Wednesday this week I'm so excited to share with you all my brand new release - an historical western spanking romance featuring a sexy gunslinger named Danny Coulter!

The Gunslinger's Woman is out now!!

A hardened gunslinger, a sassy woman. Is his quick draw enough to keep her safe?

The last thing nineteen-year-old Jeannie Cooper wants is to be a prim and proper lady, so when her older brothers try to send her off to finishing school she runs away from the family ranch to keep them from putting her on the train to Boston. She plans to hide out on the prairie and return in a few days, but things go horribly wrong when she stumbles upon the infamous Mullins gang.

Danny Coulter is a hardened gunslinger with more than enough enemies already, but when he sees a beautiful young woman held captive by outlaws his conscience forces him into action. Rescuing Jeannie turns out to be only the beginning of his troubles, however. Her sass and defiance quickly test the limits of his patience as he endeavors to get her home safely, and before long he is left with little choice but to take her over his knee for a sound spanking.

Though Danny's firm-handed discipline leaves her bottom sore and her cheeks blushing, Jeannie is nonetheless excited when her brothers offer him a job at the ranch. Soon he is courting her in earnest, and after a local busybody witnesses him giving Jeannie the first bare-bottom spanking of her life, Danny proposes marriage to avoid a scandal. But with the Mullins gang out for revenge, will his quick draw be enough to protect his woman?

Publisher's Note: The Gunslinger's Woman includes sexual scenes and spankings. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

“Lucy!” The distressed cry woke Jeannie up from her doze and she sat bolt upright in her chair. She leaned in closer to the bed where Danny lay and rested the back of her fingers against his cheek. He was burning up, still. Doc Rogerson had been and done all he could, but his parting words had been sobering ones: infection had set in - whether or not Danny lived would be entirely up to him, and how strong he was. There was nothing more the doctor could do.
For two days, Jeannie hadn’t left his side. Maria had shown her how to clean the wound with carbolic acid and change the dressings daily, and apply a warm herbal poultice using old techniques handed down from her Grandmother, but besides the occasional moan, Danny hadn’t stirred.
He clutched her hand that rested on his cheek and squeezed it with surprising strength. “I’m so sorry Lucy. I’ll kill him, I promise you!” His eyes didn’t open, and he dropped her hand that he was holding.
“Danny!” She shook him, hopeful, taking his distress as a promising sign. He was clearly delirious. Jeannie didn’t know whether that was bad or good, but she decided that the strength in his grip meant he must be getting better.
She picked up his hand and examined it in the dim light. It was huge, and the skin on his palms was calloused and rough. She ran her fingers over his knuckles; even his hands were well muscled. The veins were visible on the back of his hand. A thick scar ran down the leathery skin the length of his hand from his wrist to the base of his finger. Turning his hand over between her fingers she traced circles with the fingertips of her other hand, dragging her nails across the surface of his palm. It must have tickled; he shuddered. His hand looked too worn to belong to somebody so young.
She remembered how that hand had felt against her body, how relieved she’d been to feel it guiding her down out of the tree. How much pain it had inflicted when he’d spanked her, then how it had caressed her so tenderly as he’d held her afterwards. She admired the speed and dexterity she’d seen in his fingers when he’d shot that rabbit. Small scratches and scars covered both sides of his hands, evidence of a harsh life, a life spent fighting.
“Lucy.” He moaned again, and thrashed around in the bed. “I’ll kill you Henry, you bastard,” he mumbled, before falling still, sweat glistening on his brow.
